It used to be tempting for me to send a whole bunch of resources to clients. But what would happen is that it was often too much for them.
Nowadays, I will typically send the client only one resource at a time or a maximum of one type of resource at a time. So either I will send them simply an audio or a book or if it’s more than one, it would be a maximum of one book alongside an audio to listen to.
The reason for this is I want clients to see it’s manageable to go through the resources and put their full time and attention on them as opposed to trying to rush through three, four or five different resources and not sitting with the insights they get.
This also applies to going through resources more than once. It can be tempting just to keep giving clients more and more resources but sometimes I find that a client may have watched, listened to or read a resource I’ve sent them, but it still hasn’t landed deeply enough for them.
So instead of sending them something else, I may ask them to go back and go through the same resource again, with a more open mind or by taking notes the second time.
This has often led to them having breakthroughs and insights that they didn’t have the first time around.
So remember, clients are not paying you for information. They are paying you for transformation. And transformation often can occur more easily when we give our clients fewer resources, but have them spend more time and have more openness to them.
