I am genuinely blown away by the coaches who attend the AJC Coaching Career School. They take what they are learning not only into their coaching sessions but into their marriages, their friendships and even with strangers.
Julian Saad is one of the coaches in this current cohort who I deeply admire for his willingness to take action. A few months ago, after hearing about the power of genuine acknowledgements in the school, he acknowledged someone that most people would have ignored – a young lady he met on his lunch break. What unfolded from that moment will astound you.
Julian shared this story recently at one of our live weekends and he reminded me of something. Most of us hold back from acknowledging people we meet because we think it’s odd, they might receive it badly or it doesn’t matter. Julian’s story challenges assumptions you might have about this. People are waiting, no craving, to be seen.
I have spent years trying to point people to what Julian embodied in this one story. This is what I see happening inside this school, again and again. People going out into the world and discovering for themselves what works in building ethical coaching practices also works in all areas of their lives.
If you wondering what on earth happened, then check out this video. Julian will show you better than I ever could with words:
