I have realised, through my work with Steve Hardison, that creating a document is not the end. It’s simply the beginning. It’s a collection of declarations I am making about who I am being from now on.
Here’s the rub.
I have to actually BE those declarations. It’s not enough to just say them. I look for times when there are decisions to be made, and take decisions which are aligned to my document.
Today we were invited to a children’s petting party. I’ve never had a pet and whilst I’m ok around some animals, I’m especially uncomfortable with snakes and spiders. I heard there was going to be a tarantula there.
My first instinct was to run away as fast as I could. I didn’t even want to be in the same house as a tarantula. If I knew a tarantula was in a house I’d want to burn it down.
However, there is a declaration I say everyday. ”I am a role model for my son “.
Of course I was going to go.
On the drive down I said my document to myself over and over again. By the time I reached the party I knew I would put myself forward and hold the tarantula. I didn’t know that there would also be a snake there. I wasn’t feeling comfortable but what a fantastic opportunity to BE my document.
I’m super proud of myself and this is something I would never have done before the work with the Ultimate Coach, before creating my document in that sacred office in Phoenix, and before making a commitment to BE my document.
This week Steve shared with Daniel Harner and myself that commitment is the foundation for miracles. Well a miracle happened today as the result of my commitment to my document and if I can do this, anyone can.
