One of the biggest changes in the last year has been my relationship with my wife and a deeper sense of connection that we have fostered and cultivated during this time.
This is not to say that we are perfect or that we never disagree with each other, but there has been a tangible shift in the connection and the quality of our relationship. I put this down to making my relationship a real priority.
My coach Steve Hardison says that the most important work we will ever do is within the four walls of our own home and I really see how true this is. This is especially true for me as a coach, but it’s also true for anyone who is a CEO. I know for me that when things are great at home, it’s so much easier to go and create out in the world.
So how can you create a deeper connection with your partner?
Well, here is one tip: For the next seven days, wake up every morning and ask yourself the question;
How can I create a deeper connection with my partner today?
Your mind will come back with answers. You will have answers that are suitable for you and you can put these into practice.
Now, for anyone with an understanding of the 3 Principles, you will know that a deeper connection is our natural state of being. So when we ask ourselves this question, we’re tapping into that natural state. Accessing ideas that can bring us back to that feeling. That loving feeling that everyone has had at some point with their partner, perhaps during one of your early dates or on your wedding day, or it might have been while watching a sunset together.
I know that anything that we really put our focus on we get better at and so if we focus on having a deeper sense of connection with our significant other, we can absolutely create that.
If you want to dive deeper into this topic, there’s a great Podcast on Youtube where I speak to my early 3 Principles mentors Keith Blevens and Valda Munroe, in which we talk about having easier relationships with your partner. I highly recommend this episode.
