Many people who get into The 3 Principles don’t seem to quite grasp the understanding of it at the beginning. Sometimes it seems too abstract or “it’s just like that other teaching” or we may get very intellectual, trying to fit everything conceptually.
It was the same for me too. My introduction to the Principles was completely by accident. I was not even searching for a new understanding of how life works or to get an explanation for our behaviours. I just wanted to become a coach, so I enrolled in a coaching training. Which for my surprise it was led by the 3P coach and author Jamie Smart.
At first, what I was learning didn’t make much sense to me. I couldn’t see how these universal Principles made any relevance to my day-to-day life. It sounded like good ideas and philosophies, but I’ve always been a very practical guy. I wanted to really grasp the implications of these teachings so I could start helping others.
Sometimes I joke that back then I’d say I understood about 90% of the Principles. A couple of years and insights later, it dropped to 70%, later 50%, 30%, 20%. Nowadays if I understand 1% of it seem already a lot!
The more I explored the truth behind the 3 Principles in my life, with mentors and with clients, the more that intellectual knowledge started to fade away and give place to an embodied knowing. That is why I love to coach people to see the Principles in action within their own specific life challenges or to speak about the Principles from personal experience as much as possible. It brings them from the abstract to seeing them in every area of our lives.
A couple of years ago I was interviewed by Rudi and Jules Kennard for their facilitator training program at Innate Evolution and their challenging questions helped me express my understanding in a way that makes it easier for anyone to really see the implications of it in their own lives.
Some of the questions they asked me were:
- What are the 3 Principles?
- How is reality created?
- How do you clear your mind?
- What is Mind/Consciousness?
- Why is there so much suffering in the world?
- What were my biggest insights and implications of the Principles?
If you would like to see more clearly how this understanding applies in your life, this interview can be really useful.
